Being British !!!!

March 11th, 2008

So, some Lord or other thinks it would be a good idea for all kids when they leave school to swear allegiance to the country and the head of state.

Great, I’m sure that will make the little old ladies that are scared to go outdoors during the day, never mind the night, feel a lot better. They’ll still be terrorised by thugs but at least they will be British thugs.

The problem with this country is that we have allowed the liberal do gooders to take away every method of discipline and chastisement. I don’t believe in thrashing a kid but a slap on the legs or hand is OK in my opinion. Children nowadays have no boundaries which they know they aren’t allowed to cross.

As for tearaways and thugs who steal, beat people up and just cause mayhem and misery for all around I do feel that we should bring back the birch, the birching should be done in public on a Saturday morning in the town square. I guarantee that after a few weeks there would be far less trouble and thereafter you would only have one or two get cocky and act up every few months. I believe that would stop the problems and old people would feel safe in their homes and on the street.

Another week goes by…………… soon be Christmas.

Doesn’t time fly when you have to grind your life away just earning a crust?? Must be that I am getting older and the time seems to really fly when you have less of it left.

I wake up on Monday morning and drag my sorry arse out of bed then bam, it’s Wednesday and the middle of the week and before I know what’s happening it’s Friday night and the weekend is here and the sad part is that before I seem to have a chance to draw breath I’m dragging my sorry arse out of bed again on Monday morning.

Still mustn’t grumble, it’ll soon be payday again…………. hey ho!!!!

Sad to see him go through his divorce but it does show the truth in the old saying ” there’s no fool like an old fool ” and I suppose it’s even easier to end up looking a bit of a fool if you are really vulnerable as he was after the death of his wife.

Just hope that their child doesn’t pay the price and that he looks forward to a brighter future.

I am of the opinion that in England and Wales we already have a perfectly good legal system ( the legal system in Scotland is much the same though with slight differences ), it has been tried and tested over many hundreds of years and is based on Christian values and rights that have been fought for and won by the citizens of this country. Whilst I have no problem with any religious order giving advice to members of it’s own faith I do have a real problem with any religious law that challenges the law of the land.

Those people who have come here to settle and become members of our society mostly came because this country is a more liberal country with greater freedom for all. In the country of their birth many would be imprisoned or even put to death if they were to challenge the state as some have challenged our state.

The problem with even making the smallest concession along these lines is that once one concession is made the demands will come quick and fast for yet more concessions and before long it wont just be one religious group that law restricts or guides but everyone.

I think the Archbishop of Canterbury is a disgrace to the office he holds and should resign or he should be sacked.

Hi there, I’m back.

February 3rd, 2008

After a lot of trauma ( broken computer which took a while to fix and losing all the data for running the blog ) I am back.

Probably wont be able to devote that much time to it as I don’t seem to get as much free time now and to be honest most nights when I get home I just feel like flopping into a chair and watching the TV/ going to sleep.

I am sure I will find something to moan about though.
